The park is a coastal reserve on the Garden Route in South Africa, located some 615 km from Cape Town, 195 km from Port Elizabeth and 68 km from Plettenberg Bay. Things to seek at Tsitsikamma National Park: • Dolphins and porpoises – keeping vigil on the ocean will produce sightings of schools of dolphins and porpoises frolicking in the waves. • African Black Oystercatcher – this red data species is one of South Africa’s most threatened bird species. Several pairs nest along the park’s rocky coastline. • Knysna Lourie – these beautiful birds with a gruff call are common in the forest.

Tsitsikamma National Park Scenery

• Cape Clawless Otter – the source of the name of the Otter Trail, this shy and elusive species hunts crabs along the park’s coastline and rivers alike.
• Blue Duiker – this miniature antelope is found in the forests.

Accommodation
The park is the home to South Africa’s most popular hiking trail and a great place to take adventurous kids. Here, the forest meets the sea and gives way to some of Africa’s most beautiful coast. Watch sea life and enjoy birding. Hike the Otter Trail, 42.5 km from start to finish, or take shorter nature walks and explore the forest as well as the shoreline.
