SKVKR001 :: 3 Nights/4 Days Lake Nakuru & Masai Mara Safari
 
  

This safari is suitable for a long weekend when there is a public holiday falling close to the weekend – it can start on a Thursday and end on a Sunday or start on a Friday and end on a Monday. This safari is best done with a minimum two nights in Mara to give you enough time to enjoy the wonders of the world-renowned game park.

Day 1: Nairobi and Lake Nakuru

Pick up from Nairobi and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive in time for lunch at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge. Later in the afternoon, game drive in the park till late in the evening.

Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. Also, many species of game can be found in the park including the introduced Rothschild's giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara

After breakfast at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge, we set out for our journey to the world-famous Masai Mara Game (Wildlife) Reserve. We will drive West past Mount Longonot in the Great Rift Valley and via Narok to the Masai Mara. We arrive in good time for lunch at a Lodge/Camp. We set out for game viewing drive in the afternoon.

Masai Mara is always on the Must See List of every tourist visiting East Africa. The park is full of wildlife with various types of animals, including the Big Five, and various species of birds. Masai Mara is a rolling grasslands and acacia savannah has time and again been captured on film with the movie Out of Africa being the most famous.

The park is home to the Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard and Rhino – Africa’s famous Big Five - and over 450 bird species.

Mara is Kenya's Number One park and among the most popular game parks in Africa and the world. It gained its international fame due to the spectacular annual migration of close to two million wildebeests, zebras and gazelle from the Serengeti National Park in Northern Tanzania to Kenya in search of fresh feeding grounds.

During the crossing of the Mara River into Kenya, hundreds of animals are swept away by the first moving Mara River and others are killed by the ferocious African Crocodiles. This spectacular wonders of nature, which has been internationally recognised as the 7th Wonder of the World, takes place in late July or August.

Dinner and overnight at the Mara Sopa Lodge/ Mara Simba Lodge/ Sarova Mara Camp.

Day 3: Masai Mara

Full day in Mara with morning and afternoon game viewing. We can break game viewing and return to the lodge for lunch or leave with packed lunch in the morning. You can have your lunch in the bush as you see the spectacular sceneries and diverse wildlife that Mara is famous for.

All meals at your lodge. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge/ Mara Simba Lodge/ Sarova Mara Camp.

Day 3: Masai Mara and Nairobi
After breakfast at your Lodge/Camp, we say goodbye to Mara and embark on our return journey to Nairobi. We will make a stop-over along the way to allow you buy tourist curios that Kenya is famous for. We arrive early afternoon in Nairobi and drop you at the place of your choice.
